Dear Reader,
This blog is my experience in life as well as the valuable information for the prospective students in India who wish to pursue higher education after the graduation or after the higher secondary education.
This
blog is a humble attempt to bring the information on the M.Tech
specializations offered in India. There is no single website that gives
you this much information exclusively on M.Tech, the subject areas,
specializations, and the institutions offering these specializations.
The objective of this blog is not to suggest which specialization to
choose or which institution to choose for your M.Tech degree. This blog
is rather an information repository giving you all the data about the
M.Tech specializations offered in top engineering colleges in India. The
name of the top colleges and institutions is taken according to the
survey conducted by Career360, Outlook, SiliconIndia.com websites, etc.
From my point of view, specialization must be chosen with a goal in the
mind. It is not a short term goal, but a goal in life. You have to
decide on your future plan – whether to be in private or public sector,
whether to work in a company or in teaching field, whether to do
research and innovation, etc. This is completely the student’s
perspective. It is necessary that after four years of B.Tech education,
you should be in a position to decide on your future. To be frank,
immediately by the end of third year in B.Tech, you have to start
thinking about the future – whether to go for a company job or to join
post graduate programme, etc. My advice is that you should not go
according to somebody else’s whims and fancies. Let it be your
responsibility to shape your future. This blog can also be taken as a
reference for various M.Tech specializations offered by premier
educational institutions in India. All the specializations offered by
all the departments at all IITs, IIITs and all NITs are included in the
blog. The websites of these institutions were visited in the month of
March 2014. One posting is for one specialization and maximum effort
has been make a pictorial representation of the specializations which
are under a subject area. It is obvious that there can be other
specializations that has not been published in this website. In that
case, viewers are requested to send an email to careerbeads@gmail.com so
that the request can be catered for the future viewers.
The
data posted in this blog is completely authentic. An attempt has been
made to explain about each branch, their job prospectus, where the
students’ interest can be employed, etc. Explanation for each branch has
been taken mostly from http://careercornerstone.org, a good website
with precise and clear details on each subject area. With a basic
reference to the information from this site, the data is presented here
keeping the Indian scenario in mind. The details of M.Tech
specializations offered by each institution is taken from the
institutional site itself. Website/page link is also provided so that
the aspiring students can visit the site and see the details.
Author
of this blog is from a reputed university in South India, with more
than 12 years of teaching experience with a master’s degree. With a
close communication with the students and the queries raised by them in
the recent times prompted the author to build a site like this so that
all the information about the M.Tech specializations offered in India
can be brought under one umbrella.
